Prayer is a conversation with God. It is important for us to really think about what we are saying and what we really mean when we pray.
Remember...PACT Sometimes we PRAISE God when we pray. Sometimes we may ASK God for something. Sometimes we say we are sorry...Contrition Sometimes we give THANKS for what God has given. Then we need to LISTEN to God, because sometimes God may ask US to 'do something' as part of the answer to our prayer. (note: the optional video link is for the parents). |

Our Father
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen |

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. The video below does not have a child's 'voice over' ... only music & words.
The Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, And to the Son, And to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, And ever shall be, World without end. Amen. Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son,our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. |

PARENTS...
Sometimes a prayer is saying what is in our heart...watch the video (left) discuss it with your child(ren).... What this 'prayer' about? What is the girl Esmeralda asking God for? Is she asking for something for herself? The song "God Help the Outcasts" is a soft ballad sung by Esmeralda inside Notre Dame after she sees how Quasimodo and her people are treated by society. Clip is from the Disney movie The Hunchback Of Notre Dame |
